Our new Rainbow Community Hub at the Clock House, Elland opened its doors today with Monday morning smiles from our teams on both floors, and our first family hailed it "a lovely experience" - see them below.
To celebrate the “Big Move” from CRH the team created this amazing, fun-filled video.
The new healthcare centre is packed with state-of-the-art technology and amazing facilities for our young patients with developmental conditions. The hub will host around 12,000 appointments for both play sessions and clinics every year.
Clinical Nurse Manager, Katie Booth pictured far right, said: “It’s an amazing day for everyone involved – both colleagues and families. It’s also a truly emotional one as, all along this journey, we have wanted the very best facility for our families and now it’s here! We are very proud. It’s amazing.”
Our Charity has donated to provide the latest in distraction technology including moving skylight pictures in every room and a new soft play area. There is also a Changing Places facility which is a first for our Trust.
Specialist Children's Nursing teams including community, epilepsy and diabetes will also be based there so families can receive care under one roof without multiple visits and appointments.
Families who helped with the design have also had sneak previews in advance of today as a thank-you to them. A formal opening will take place later in the year. The Hub replaces the existing Rainbow Child Development Unit at CRH which will become the site for the new wards and clinical buildings planned for CRH.
And our first family through the doors today were Ezra, aged three with Dad Mark and Mum Bethany. They're pictured below and said: “It’s been the most lovely experience today.”
