Our new Multi-Storey Car Park at Calderdale Royal Hospital is taking shape with the steel superstructure close to completion. From Tuesday, 7th April, we will begin pouring concrete which will form the different levels of the car park. This is expected to take around six weeks.
Concrete will be poured during the day, and in the evenings and overnight, Monday to Friday, however this may sometimes extend into a Saturday morning. Our contractors Huber Parking will be flattening and levelling the concrete before it starts to harden.
From next Tuesday, 7th April, there will be more trucks driving onto site which will be delivering the concrete during the day. There may be some minor noise from the equipment used, though this is expected to be no louder than ordinary traffic noise.
Concrete flattening and levelling, known as power floating, needs to be done in the evenings and overnight as soon as the concrete has been poured. Though we do not expect any major noise disruption during this time, you may notice additional lights on site during evenings and nights to allow this work to happen.
