Construction of Broad Street's Community Diagnostic Centre is underway

Published on:

Construction has started to develop our new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in the Broad Street building in Halifax, on the site of the old Job Centre. Construction of the new facility is due to be completed by June 2024.

The aim of a CDC is to make diagnostic tests more readily available for our patients by providing a single point of access to a range of services in the community.

This weekend we also started to deliver additional phlebotomy, ECG and ultrasound capacity from the existing Broad Street building, which we will continue to do every Saturday and Sunday to help bring down waiting times.

Work is also underway to deliver a Community Diagnostic Centre on the University of Huddersfield campus, in a first-of-its-kind partnership. The new Huddersfield CDC is due to open in 2025.
