Using experience in our Foundations for our Future programme

The design brief for our Foundations for our Future programme draws on feedback from lots of engagement sessions and discussion held with local healthcare stakeholders, voluntary organisations and members of the public.

Their aspirations for modern health services included that services should be:

  • delivered in buildings that offer a healing and therapeutic environment that is welcoming, calm and provides a light environment with external views
  • accessible and inclusive supporting diverse patient needs
  • ensure privacy and dignity and enable social interaction.

It also specifically focuses on meeting the needs of people who we know often experience challenges in accessing healthcare services such as through age discrimination, disabilities, or from seldom heard groups.
